Busting through the Barrier

Run:  Made it past the Standard 3.  It was an almost pleasant evening jog; a nice change of pace from the roll out of bed at 5AM and hit the pavement routine.

Write:  Here I am!  Had some elaborate ideas but we'll see how it turns out as I'm fading fast and Monday is right around the bend!

Read:  I'm surprised that this is my apparent weak spot!  I must make some changes...such as moving the phone further from the bed!  It's too easy to spend time scrolling rather than reading!

It was a beautiful day on the homestead.  I leisurely puttered around outside after church - nothing that I would call work.  It nice to be in the sunshine and breeze, without having to wear glasses, with time and space to think.

Mind you, life here are the Haven of Rest is never dull!  Today - the day our housemates left for a month of camping - a bunny (their bunny) escaped!  But due to not getting a lot of free-range cardiovascular exercise, it appeared Blizzard wore out rather quickly and was easy to scoop up once his fatigue set in.

And then there is watering chicks - they drink a lot and they drink fast!  What an
interesting assortment they are.  These too along with the adults are a project of our housemates.

Then there are the critters to control -

  • Mosquitoes:  No standing water - it becomes an ideal mosquito nursery!  Hunt for it and dump it!
  • Tics:  Long grass is a haven for tics!  Mow, cut, mow, cut...
  • Chipmunks:  Cute but they need to be controlled!
  • Red squirrels:  No room for even an idea of cuteness as they rampage and destroy!
Yet there is much loveliness - we just need to stop to smell the peonies once in a twice...or twice.
