The day

A good day.

Yesterday I decided to take all of today off rather than just the morning.  And what I mental treat that was from the moment of sunrise!  No alarm clock - other than Kitty.

Golden gifts
RUN was proceeded by an hour plus of coffee sipping and conversation.  My how that lubricates the joints, the lungs, and the mind.  While I went for the Standard 3 rather than the Long, it was a fun none the less and there is always tomorrow.

The neph' popped by with his dad shortly before I headed out for a traditional birthday outing with local friends.  It was fun to present him with his Golden Birthday gift - and I think a fun memory was made.

Lunch with Becky and Krista was lovely - beautiful weather to eat outside, yummy food, and great conversation!  The only thing missing was Kirsten.  I think we have been doing birthdays together for at least ten years.  How fortunate (blessed) am I to have such quality friends at this stage of life.  I enjoy the fact that there is a bit of an age range and a variety of life stages and seasons, yet a richness of comradery primarily centered on Jesus and what it means to be a Jesus follower.

Books, flowers, & friends
After this lovely lunch I found myself in the state of napping since that was what my housemate was doing - what a luxury.

Fantastic rhubarb cake with lemon curd - of my!  One of these times I'll post a recipe - there have been a couple of good ones this last week.

The day wrapped up with an outing to the local theater for a performance of Alice in Wonderland featuring Krista and Indira - I thought they both were outstanding.

READ Finished Michael Vey and will now move to finishing the other library book The Nurses.

"Through the months as she turned her fears and concerns into prayer, she realized that she was changing from being a worrier to a prayer warrior  She sensed hat the Lord was giving her a new name. Her identity in Christ was deepening through the struggle of unwanted heartache...What new name do you think God might give to you?" ODB

The theme of prayer continues to follow me.  There's no room to wonder "What is God trying to tell me?"  I love the idea of names having meaning and being attached to identity...although I will have to ponder what name God may be giving me...
