Mud Boots

Spring has finally sprung!  A splash of color brightens the browns and grays of tired dirt and residual winter debris.

Color also made a splash via a fun pair of mud boots - a new near necessity with chickens and such!  How nice to rack leaves and other compost-like material without concern of it making it's way into my shoes!

"Burning" Leave

While the past few days have been terribly windy, today was calm enough to burn leave, yet wet enough to produce much smoke!

 Outside chore were cut short due to a fundraising event in the afternoon.  What a lovely event for a great cause!  Days for Girls provides sanitary products for girls who otherwise have nothing, which means many lost school days.  What a difference these products can make in the life a girl...many girls,..and in turn communities. It rekindled interests from many a year ago of health education, helping girls and women, and nursing...  Maybe in the future there will be a way to be more involved...but for today it was satisfying to be in the position to encourage and support financially.
