Friday the 3rd
Something NEW - celebrating the end of the school year with the nephew!
After the Standard 3 this morning, sans Breathe oil, which I forgot about until I was wheezing, my nephew and I celebrated the last day of school and the first day of our birthday celebration by having breakfast at a cute cafe down the road - actually twelve miles down the road. It was a tasty, rural eatery experience. And the neph left with a bonus package of animal crackers and a compliment from the waitress regarding his good behavior! What a great way to start the day!

RUN: So yes there was another Standard 3 run. It's time to press throw that barrier - maybe on Sunday :) Steps were added to the day by a bonus three mile walk with a friend - not only good for the body but also the mind and the soul.
Read: I realized I have two library books at the bedside, so I'm shifting to those, I anticipate increasing the pace of transitioning back to nursing, so I'm hoping The Nurses will help stir my imaginations and aspiration in that direction. The setting is far from rural, critical access healthcare, yet so far the struggles seem the same.
This morning's reading addressed weary souls - I can relate to that! With the added reminder that God does not grow tired or weary (Is 40). One could chew on that for a while.
So it is that day three of thirty is coming to a close. There was rain today and likely more tomorrow. Lush, rich green envelops us on all sides in a refreshing, restful sort of cocoon. It is rather other-world-like here at the Haven of Rest. The rain causes us to slow down and sometimes even to stop...and gaze into the green and find a moment of peace - shalom.
