July is off to a GREAT start! On the last day of June I was momentarily inspired with the idea of "creating." Writing down an idea does seem to help it germinate so here we go into another 30-day challenge!
July 1: Many years ago during another season when I was aspiring to reinvent myself, I entered a few loaves of bread into the
Barron County Fair and was surprised and delighted to win a couple ribbons! With that experience and having been drawn into the Great British Bake Off for nearly the past year, I thought it was about time to dust off my bread pans and get back into the game again. So I have committed myself to two entries into the fair! The categories are "other" and rye. Stay tuned...
July 2: My housemate / landlady has mentioned a particular scone and even purchased the necessary raspberries. Since there wasn't a lot pressing today before the 3PM shift at the hospital, I decided to "create" these scones and enjoy a leisurely coffee time with my housemate. Photos are "as is" due to time constraints, thus to eye popping editing / filters.

| It's fun to use my housemate's lovely vintage bowl. |
| As Martha would say, "Use only the best ingredients." |
| Butter is key! Blend but not too much! |
| Fresh eggs and vanilla from Mexico. |
| Pressing onto a pastry cloth -- dough is sticky! |
Cut into segments.

Nice! |
